Southwest students go toe-to-toe in Spelling Bee contest

The Varnett Public School, Southwest Campus, held the first round of the Spelling Bee on Friday, April 7.

More than 300 kindergarten-through-second-grade students competed. Students had to spell words from a list on their own grade level. Many students went toe-to-toe for quite a few rounds before a winner was proclaimed.

All students worked hard and we are so proud of all our kinder, first- and second-grade students. Round 2 of the Spelling Bee is April 21.
