A Varnett grandmother who is an arts and crafts expert led dozens of families in making Mother's Day gifts in the Southwest Campus cafeteria.
Ms. Clara Dobbins, who has conducted such classes at Varnett twice before, showed the group how to color flower outlines and create gifts that paid tribute to moms.
Mother's Day is on Sunday, May 14.
The finished products illustrated the love the children have for their mothers. The students displayed paintings that said "I Love U Mom," or simply "Mom" surrounded by colorful designs.
Meanwhile, students in their fourth-grade class helped decorate picture frames for their moms.
It was a fitting end to the school week as Mother's Day approaches. Thanks to all who participated.
