Pennsylvania shows love for Varnett's displaced students

In a show of love after Hurricane Harvey, representatives of Pennsylvania-based Because We Care Foundation teamed with the Houston Police Department Friday to distribute 200 teddy bears to displaced East and Northeast students at the Northeast Campus.

In addition, students from Juniata Elementary School, also in Pennsylvania, made cards of encouragement for their Houston counterparts.

Representing the police department, which made the connection with Varnett, were Police Officer Jeremy Lahar and Senior Police Officer Angela M. Douglas, who communicated with the children in Spanish.

The smiles on our children's faces were priceless and they will soon write thank you letters to the children from Altoona, Pa!
