Third-grader likens Grandparents to "teddy bears"

Zakia Sidney is a 3rd grade student in the classroom of teacher Ms. Sheila Nelson at the Northeast Campus. Her grandparents, Ms. Darlene Sidney and Mr. Louis Sidney were among hundreds of grandparents and other relatives to visit and have breakfast with their grandchildren at all three campuses on Sept. 6, two days before National Grandparents Day. The following is Zakia's tribute to her loved ones.

Grandparents Day is celebrating the love that I share with my parents’ Mom and Dad. On this day, it gives me an opportunity to tell my grandparents how much they are appreciated and loved.

I love them soooo much I want to spend time with them every chance I get. I like going to dinner and shopping with my grandparents. They are lovable like my teddy bears.
