Ms. Jones and Ms. Chaney were named Varnett's Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year, respectively. Both work at the Southwest Campus.
They were recognized during a Staff Appreciation Luncheon on June 6, the day after school ended for students.
Ms. Jones and Ms. Chaney were named based on educational essays presented to a panel of judges.
Each received prizes.
Ms. Jones, who teaches second grade, has been at Varnett for two years and a teacher for eight years. Ms. Chaney has been a Varnett employee for seven years.
