Looking ahead: summer school and plans for the 2020-2021 school year

Dear Parents,

Friday, May 22, 2020 was the last day of instruction. The last day for teachers is Friday, May 29, 2020.

At-home summer school, however, is quickly approaching. Here's the schedule for selected students:

June 8 through July 2, 2020

Monday through Thursday

8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

There will be a food distribution for breakfast and lunch one day per week on Wednesdays. Each school site will distribute grab and go packets between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 pm. Please wear masks or face coverings when you pick up the food. You will also be asked to verbally complete a short survey.

Summer school teachers will have office hours to provide direct support to students and answer parent questions and concerns.

For the 2020-2021 school year, our original start date is  August 17, 2020. However, we may open sooner than that. We are reviewing a possible combination of in-class instruction and distance learning, and possibly extending the school year. We will consider options based on the changing landscape of the coronavirus and information from the Texas Education Agency, our staff and our parents. We will inform you when we have completed our planning.
