Who We Are
The Varnett Public School is a Title 1 charter school with three campuses in Houston. Our focus is to help students achieve their personal best in a protective, nurturing environment.
We all work very hard to create the kind of environment that is a safe place for students and for teachers to collaborate with each other, with parents and with the administrative staff to develop optimum solutions for classroom challenges for the benefit of our scholars.
Our goal is to instill a love of learning and the learning skills that will help these students excel – not only on our campuses, but in life.
Our teachers love being a part of the Varnett family. Here are just a few of the reasons:
• Mutual respect between teachers, students, families and administration;
• Opportunities for career growth;
• A sharing atmosphere where every teacher gets the support he or she needs to succeed;
• Competitive compensation.
“No choice a family makes is more important than the choice of whom to entrust with the safety, well-being and education of their children,” says our superintendent, Dr. Margaret Stroud.
“The Varnett Public School has a Legacy of Excellence, which is a source of pride to the entire community. The education our children receives at Varnett is the foundation for a successful life.”
