The Varnett Public School and the Houston Food Bank teamed up to serve about 150 families in the Southwest campus parking lot Thursday, April 8.
Following COVID-19 safety protocol, we supplied the drive-thru families with cereal, water, vegetables, non-perishable food items, coffee, vegetables and more.
We are proud to serve our community and a special thanks goes to Ms. Pamella Thomas, the campus parent liaison, for her efforts in setting up the event and distributing the food. We also thank the Houston Food Bank.
This was a community event and anybody who registered received food during the three-hour event.
