Happy National Hispanic Heritage Month

Parents and students celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month with a Mexican-style lunch at Southwest and Early Childhood Education campuses today, October 5.
Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America, according to

As of 2012, Hispanics and Latinos make up about 17 percent of the total U.S. population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and about 51 percent of enrollment at The Varnett Public School.
