Wellness Wednesday Image Gratitude Practice

At The Varnett Public School, this week’s Wellness Wednesday invites our staff, students, and families to pause and practice gratitude. Amid busy schedules and daily responsibilities, taking a moment to recognize the people and experiences we appreciate is a simple way to bring intention to our day.

Our featured message, “Gratitude Practice,” encourages two easy actions:

Share appreciation. Offer a heartfelt thank-you to a colleague, friend, or family member. Be specific—let someone know how their kindness, encouragement, or support made a difference.

Start a gratitude log. Write down a positive moment or small win each day. A student’s progress, a helping hand, or a quiet moment to recharge can all be worth remembering.

This week, try a simple challenge: Name three things you appreciate and thank one person who has brightened your day. Invite your students or family members to join by sharing something they are grateful for, too.

Gratitude does not require a perfect day. It begins with noticing something meaningful within the day we have.

As we embrace our “Be the Change” theme, let’s recognize the everyday care and contributions that make our Varnett community special. To every staff member helping our students learn, grow, and feel supported, thank you. Your work matters.
