Mr. Donahoe receives Difference Makers award

The next time you see Mr. Kendrick Donahoe, say "congratulations!"

Mr. Donoahoe, a seventh and eighth-grade math teacher at the Southwest campus, was presented the Houston Difference Makers in Education Award on Monday by Mostyn Law and 1-800-TruckWreck in cooperation with 97.9 The Box.

Family, friends and colleagues were able to nominate a local teacher, principal, librarian, coach or counselor from their students' school.

"They shared with us the positive impact they are having in the community's classrooms," Ms. Chelsea Roberson, who works in marketing at Mostyn, said in an email. "There were over 400 nominations over a three-week period and 20 winners were selected. Mr. Donahoe was one of our winners!"

Mr. Donahoe, in this third year of teaching at Varnett, received an award bearing his name, a $200 Amazon gift card and a $100 gift card from Lucille's Fine Southern Foods.

"I would like to thank everyone for all of the well wishes," Mr. Donahoe said. "I would like to dedicate this accomplishment and share it with all of the educators of the world."
