Black History Month activities will be capped by Feb. 27 district-wide event

Throughout February, classrooms at The Varnett Public School will be abuzz with events, activities, and special curricula in celebration of Black History Month.

Across the district our schools are incorporating themed studies that engage students while highlighting important contributions of African Americans.

Varnett will host its annual district-wide celebration when all three campuses become one on February 27th. Our students will be educated and entertained with jam-packed lineup from a zydeco performance to African dance and drumming from South Africa. The event will be held at the Southwest Campus.

Students are encouraged to wear their Go Texan gear as we also will be celebrating the city-wide “Go Texan” day activities. These activities will be in preparation of our district-wide trips to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo.
