Varnett's Mrs. Claus gives library books to Southwest students

The holiday spirit continues at The Varnett Public School, Southwest campus! Our own campus Mrs. Claus, Mrs. Deloris Jackson, school librarian, gifted students with a book to take home for Christmas.

Each class had an opportunity to visit the library and each student got to choose a brand new book to keep.  We all know that "reading is fundamental" and what better way to spend some time this holiday season than to cozy up with a good book.

Varnett bought the books from proceeds raised during a Scholastic book fair earlier this year. "These are 2016-17 books just off the press," Ms. Jackson said in describing the Scholastic Dollars program. "I made sure they are brand new."

Thank you, Mrs. Jackson, for supporting literacy at our school.
