The Northeast Campus celebrated the promotion of 55 fifth-graders Wednesday during a ceremony at East Campus.
Ms. Toni I. Fisher, the campus director, wrote an acknowledgment to members of the Northeast community.
"To the loyal and dedicated parents and supporters who have labored with us during the 2016-17 school year, on behalf of the administration, faculty and staff, we would like to say 'thank you.'"
Dr. Margaret Stroud, superintendent of The Varnett Public School, also thanked parents and guardians for sending their children to Varnett. She said physical improvements are ongoing and thanked the parents for their patience during a challenging 2016-17 school year. Those who return next year can expect a smoother ride, she said.
Dr. Stroud also reminded parents and students alike that all three campuses, including Northeast, are adding sixth-grade next school year and invited them to come back.
